“If you know how to make good use of the mud,
you can grow beautiful lotuses.”
— Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist
About.
Hello! I’m Haruna (she/her). I’m a cis, queer, neurodivergent, 1st generation Japanese American woman who grew up in New England and calls the Bay Area, California home.
For a majority of my life, I felt stuck in the same patterns - I was unhappy with myself and my relationships with family, partners, friends, and work. I had gone through a lot in my childhood, but my brief forays into therapy were not healing. I was just getting by…
That was until I met a queer, mixed race therapist who truly honored my identities, got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and did a deep dive into mindfulness practice and Internal Family Systems. Now it’s my life passion to offer these conditions that changed my life to you all!
As a queer, neurodivergent, bicultural woman, I’m here to affirm all aspects of your identity and help you find your true, beautiful self
I’ll honor the social, historical, and generational contexts of your struggles to help you make sense of your pain and not feel so alone
I’ll share my knowledge in mindfulness-based therapy modalities and the Plum Village tradition of engaged Buddhism to help you experience the transformative power of mindfulness for our suffering
I’ll introduce you to Internal Family Systems Therapy, which provides a whole new level of self-exploration in order to compassionately heal past wounds that continue to show up in the present
If you’re struggling with ADHD as an adult, I’ll help you treat your brain better and ask for the help you need and deserve
If you’re feeling unfulfilled in your relationships, I’ll support you with watering the seeds for relationships and communities that truly value and nourish you
Thanks to these conditions, I no longer feel stuck! I feel seen by people close to me and more able to honor my needs. Now that I understand myself better, I can respond to my mental, emotional, and physical states with more awareness and compassion. I’ve been able to cultivate a much deeper relationship with myself and others. This solid connection and trust in myself has allowed me to explore more challenging territory - past and present - without being thrown off balance.
I feel so fortunate to be able to walk clients through the same things that truly helped me heal and grow!
