If you know how to make good use of the mud,
you can grow beautiful lotuses.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist

About.

Hello! I’m Haruna (she/her). I’m a cis, queer, neurodivergent, first generation Japanese American woman who grew up in New England and now calls California home.

For so much of my life I struggled with a deep sense of unworthiness and fear. I never felt like I was enough. I felt like I was constantly letting other people down and I constantly felt let down by other people. I was unhappy with my relationships with work, friends, partners, and family… until I found a healing journey that made sense for me:

  • Finding a queer, mixed race therapist that affirmed all aspects of my identity and a field of study that helped me contextualize my struggles

  • Immersing myself in mindfulness-based therapy modalities and the Plum Village tradition of Zen Buddhism that value the healing power of compassion, love, openness, curiosity

  • Discovering Internal Family Systems, which helped me connect with my inner experiences and my inner child with care and non-judgment and deeply enriched my relationship with and understanding of myself

  • Getting diagnosed as an adult with ADHD

  • Engaging with relationships and communities that shared my experiences and nourished my soul

Now it’s my life passion to make these things happen for you! I became a healer because I didn’t want anyone else to feel the loneliness I did when I was at my lowest points. I feel so fortunate to be able to spend my days helping people learn, grow, heal, and to reminding them that they are never alone.

Through mindfulness practices, profound self-exploration (through IFS) we can strengthen our inner wells of compassion and wisdom and truly embody the love that we all want to see more of in this world.
